Hannes, who has been estranged from his Japanese ex-girlfriend for several years, receives word that she is about to get married. Despite knowing no Japanese, he travels to Japan to try to find her and stop the wedding. When he arrives in Japan, he meets Akira, a Japanese salary man stuck working at a job he hates. Seeing how helpless Hannes is, Akira tries to lead him to his destination, but the simple task of getting to his ex-girlfriend's house starts to go horribly wrong as one obstacle after another keep appearing, as the two of them desperately try to get there in time to stop the wedding. Their personalities clash at first with Hannes being angry and frustrated, while Akira is more timid and reserved, but on their journey they begin to understand and respect each other more.
