Shirley Moore worked as a journalist for CBC Radio for several years and specialized in environmental, political and cultural stories. She was also an associate producer, fill-in newsreader and host, and has produced her own programs for community radio.

Shirley has worked as an editor and writer, and has been published in university magazines and small and independent creative publications. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in English and a bachelor of journalism.
