It is the early 1940's. Merel, a 14-year-old girl, has a great and good life. Then the war starts. The village is occupied. But those Germans aren't so bad after all? They seem nice and pay their groceries. Life just goes on. But this all changes when not only she comes into contact with the war herself, but everyone around her slowly changes through the war. She ends up in an area she isn't familiair with. Who is a friend and the true enemy? Who can be trusted? Slowly but surely, Merel finds out that the war is not just a physical thing, but an inner struggle for every individual. What is right and what is wrong in a world you thought you knew. What would you have done, what would you have chosen? Do you dare to fight? The fight within you?
