A man who has returned from China and is raising his son and daughter makes a living selling noodles in Ginza, Tokyo. Oddly, he hides from another man who has also returned from China. The father, son and daughter live in an apartment next door to a cabaret waitress who is friendly towards them. The father is hit by a car in Ginza one day. The vehicle also swerves into the cabaret and injures a singer. A quarrel ensues. The man's son can also sing and decides to try his hand as a replacement for the injured man.
