Antithesis
JASON, a student with social anxiety disorder, is studying in a secluded section of the library. He sees a girl named ANA chatting with friends as they browse through the books. Jason wonders what it would be like to be with her. A few days later, Ana returns to the library and stumbles into Jason's quiet spot. She apologizes for intruding, after introducing herself and going on a rant, leaving Jason in a daze. Afterwards, Jason starts to dream of talking to her but his anxiety makes it impossible. Jason eventually decides that he wants to approach her. He tries to talk to her indirectly using notes, but this does not work. After gathering his courage for several weeks, he goes to look for her among the bookshelves. Jason anxiety is triggered upon approaching her but fights through it. Ana sees Jason and happily talks to him and eventually Jason's anxiety calms. Ana leaves, but kisses Jason on the cheek as she does. Afterwards, Ana stops coming to the library and the semester comes to an end. When school starts again, Jason sees Ana in the library and slowly walks by her to see if she remembers him. As he passes by, another man walks up to her and kisses her. Jason is devastated as his hopes for a relationship crash down around him, and he flees to his usual spot. As he sits there, he is approached by a GIRL who is clearly very nervous. She shyly asks if she can sit with him, and a sympathetic Jason replies yes. When she sits down, Jason is filled with hope that maybe this time he can gain a friend, or something more.
