Yuki onna
Minokichi and Mosaku find shelter in a hut while out hunting during a snow storm. Minokichi awakens to discover his senior has been murdered by a female spirit, but has spared him due to his younger age. In exchange for the clemency, the spirit named Yuki ('snow' in Japanese and played by the director) under oath of death extracts a promise of silence from Minokichi. The man meets, falls for and marries a woman - again played by the director - resembling Yuki years later.
