In-young, a 32-year-old housewife, discovers a café that she finds comfortable to be in on her own, and becomes a regular. At the café, she meets Hee-su, a 39-year-old carpenter, who also comes on his own. Hee-su suggests In-young that they becomes 'coffeemates,' friends who meet only at that café. They don't meet outside, no phone calls or texting either. Through a relationship that started out like a joke, the café becomes subjective time and place for them, separating them from reality, and Hee-su and In-young discover what they really wanted.
