Susana is a successful pianist and composer who becomes depressed after an early diagnosis of Parkinson's. Giving up on life, she hardly leaves her home, despite appeals from her mother. Gabriel is a bon vivant with a fear for deep and meaningful relationships, always dating on-again, off-again with his girlfriend, Alice. When he discovers, after one of their breakups, that she's moved on and intends to marry another man, Gabriel realizes he may have lost the love of his life. Meanwhile, Susana gets ready to go to her sister's wedding in Paris. However, a tragic accident involving Gabriel makes Susana miss her flight, and the two strangers will fatefully cross paths.
