It's been a year since the events at Bishop Castle. Celeste has set off on her own, fearing for her family's safety in the event that witch-hunter Ezekiel Mather comes looking for her. She takes refuge in a secluded cabin in a remote mountain valley. But the valley is enchanted, and inhabited by faeries, lost boys, and other curious creatures...including a recently-arrived sorcerer who has cast a pall of fear over all the valley's inhabitants. Celeste encounters a lost boy named Devlin, and she must try to use her ever-stronger magic skills to save him and his companions from their plight. But an unexpected encounter with the sorcerer alters her course, and once again, Celeste is confronted with the reality that people are not always who they seem to be, as she finds herself face to face with her old nemesis.
