Mauro is a car mechanic; one morning he wakes up struck by inspiration, the voiceover carrying him all over the movie acting as intermediary with the listener. Inspiration will guide him through all steps of book creation, from the sparkling idea while Mauro is leaning on an engine in his workshop, to the bibliographic research when he gets back home after work. Passing by all less known steps of story making, review, publishers contact, the oppressive waiting for a reply, the meeting with more or less honest publishers - Eventually Mauro's dream gets real and the book happily goes toward the final stages of its realization: final review, cover look and finally the craved bookstore shelf. The documentary has been directed with limited resources "in the garage box". Simple words and concepts reveal to the kid's audience all secret steps hidden behind creation of a book starting just from a simple idea in writer's mind up to the book in the library showcase among other most famous authors.
