American Dreams
Ling is a young student, from China, who comes to American to pursue her dream in photography. All her life she heard how wonderful America is like Heaven. But, she has heard from others that it can also be like Hell. Growing up in China America had always been this wonderous place... a place that anything could happen. But when she arrived in New York City she found that life was much harder here than she immagined. Her photogrphay classes were inspriring, but the student Visa she had did not permit her to work. The Visa limitations resulted in her have to accept less than perfect jobs... from less than perfect employers. Ling also had dreams of falling in love. So many American TV shows had taught her that not only was American a land of opportunity... but also a land of romance. Through a series of bad dates, bad jobs, and bad circumstance she keeps moving forward all the time hoping the skies of America are as blue as in her dreams.
