In this short documentary some of Edmonton's literary community help explain the origins of its 'slam' competitions - an oratory literary competition in both poetry and prose. By highlighting some of the influences and origins that helped originally foster this literary movement in Edmonton, we gleam an understanding of its current state and future direction. From poetry to prose, Edmonton seems to be growing and continuing to developing a diverse community of writers through slam competitions.
