After a break-in at the Collier family home leads nine-year-old Boyd Collier to discover the true nature of Santa Claus, he begins to question the nature of everything around him in his small town. With his parents, Ash and Maggie, struggling with their own concerns, Boyd is tasked with reconciling himself to a new stage in his life and while doing so, attempts to help his father do the same.
