Kaupungin synty
In the documentary "Kaupungin synty" ("The Birth of a City"), the reporter meets some of Finland's oldest city's leading figures, including architect Benito Casagrande, Professor Timo Soikkanen, and Mika Akkanen, the man who proclaims the Christmas Peace, all of whom have their own perspectives on the founding of Turku. The question of the city's age takes the reporter all over Turku, from archives to libraries and as far as Nousiainen and Köyliö. Historical events-such as the 1300 translation procession, the 1928 Turku City Council meeting where the city's centennial celebrations were first decided, and the discovery of Bishop Henry's relics during the restoration of Turku Cathedral led by Juhani Rinne (Raimo Karppinen)-come to life in the reporter's imagination.
