When Patrick Perkins - the city's golden boy - is discovered to be one of its most infamous villains, known as "The Magician", a reporter must uncover the truth behind the event that took him down and learn what makes a man a "good" guy or a "bad" guy. Along the way she interviews his nemesis, The Scientist, his former flame, The Mistress, his troubled father, and a host of colorful characters from his past. Some of her interviewees have their own agendas and may have contributed to Patrick's downfall and stand in the way of his redemption. This reporter soon discovers the answers are not always black and white and her own history with the notorious trickster may be called into question.
