Captain Gennadiy Nevelskoy, an excellent student at the Naval Academy, is forced by his talent to teach naval science to the Tsarevich instead of conquering distant seas, watching as other people's dreams replace his own. Fourteen-year-old Nadezhda, a young student at the Institute for Noble Maidens, has never found her place in the capital. Deep down, she knows her true home is lost somewhere in the lands of the Far East, and she must return there. Upon meeting each other, Gennadiy and Nadezhda embark on a great and dangerous adventure-a search for themselves and their place in the world.
