Memoria iteso
Under the direction of Natalia Armienta, Memoria is an original 7-episode miniseries created for the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO - UIA System). Conceived as a space to remember, reflect on, and celebrate the origins and evolution of the institution, the series explores not only when and how ITESO was founded, but why it came into being and how its core values have guided its development over time. Presented in the format of a television program, Memoria brings together guests from different generations, disciplines, and areas of the university community. Each episode focuses on a key stage in the institution's history and identity, creating a multi-layered portrait of ITESO through personal stories, shared experiences, and defining moments. The miniseries begins with the foundation of ITESO and the process of obtaining official recognition and academic validation, followed by the structuring of the institution and the early organizational decisions that shaped its direction. Subsequent episodes explore periods of experimentation, participation, and change, as well as major moments of educational renewal that redefined teaching and learning practices. The series also examines the development of research and graduate programs, highlighting their role in strengthening academic life and expanding the university's impact. Later chapters focus on university life, student formation, and social commitment, capturing how daily experiences, community engagement, and values-based education have shaped generations of students. The final episode traces the growth of the campus and its infrastructure, reflecting how physical space and institutional vision evolved together. Blending conversation, laughter, and everyday rituals around food and drink, Memoria weaves individual memories with institutional history. Filmed in 4K and featuring original music and 3D animation, the series offers a cinematic, layered narrative that goes beyond a traditional corporate format, revealing how memory, identity, and community continue to shape the present and future of ITESO.
