Shipstads & Johnson Ice Follies
Don Adams of "Get Smart' hosts the 30th annual presentation of the Shipstads and Johnson Ice Follies. Featured performers include the Beattys, precision skaters from England; Richard Dwyer and Dorothyann Nelson; German champion Ina Bauer (who skates to the theme from "Walk on the Wild Side"); figure-skating champ Don Jackson ("Peter Gunn" and "Goldfinger"); and the Williams Family ("Oklahoma!"). Comedy is provided by Mr. Frick, who performs a back-bend while whizzing over the ice; Senor Hee Haw, a skating burro; and the clowning Scarecrows. Production numbers re-create an 1890's skating party in Central Park; a Japanese version of "The Night Before Christmas"; a policemen and firemen's ball; and a fashion show.
