Anya caught her boyfriend Pavel cheating on her with her relative, Marina. All her plans for the near future are ruined: the wedding is canceled, she fails her university entrance exams due to stress, and she discovers she's pregnant. Under pressure from her mother, Anya is forced to marry Vasiliy, whom she doesn't love, and move to Moscow. But a happy family life doesn't work out: Vasya ends up in prison, and their daughter Masha loses her hearing and requires a complex, expensive operation. To raise the necessary funds, Anna agrees to become a surrogate mother... for Marina and Pavel's child. When Pavel and Anna meet again, they realize their feelings for each other haven't faded.
