Berti Ottensamer, a traditional costume jewelry workshop owner, has incorporated small body parts of his human victims into his traditional Bavarian accessory, the "charivari," instead of appendages from local wild animals. Mia Bader witnesses the belly chain being ripped from him-and thus a potential piece of evidence. A short time later, it disappears without a trace, and former police officer Frederike Bader must track her down with the help of private investigator Ferdinand Zankl.
