In an increasingly digital world, there are still major international markets in which trading is done by shouting and waving, known as open outcry trading. Open Outcry was an award-winning and unique opera in which the singers traded artificial stocks with each other by singing. The singing fee they took home after their performance was decided by how well they traded in the market, while being accompanied by a cello. A conductor could cause the market to crash, boom, or be neutral so as to manipulate their emotions. This video is a short documentary about the conception and making of Open Outcry and the event within which it was presented.
