14th Annual Indie Series Awards
The winners of the 14th Annual Indie Series Awards were announced in a ceremony at the sold out Colony Theatre in Burbank hosted by Primetime Emmy winner Patrika Darbo. Kombucha Cure was named Best Drama Series and took six ISAs including Best Directing - Drama, Best Supporting Actress - Drama (Denise Boutte), Best Guest Performer - Drama (Jennifer Bassey), Best Cinematography and Best Production Design. Keith Vs. took home the ISA for Best Comedy Series and seven total awards including Best Lead Actor - Comedy (Keith Powell), Best Supporting Actress - Comedy (Jill Knox), Best Guest Performer - Comedy (Ben Feldman), Best Ensemble - Comedy, Best Directing - Comedy and Best Writing - Comedy. The Case Within was named Best Audio Fiction Series and won three awards including Best Lead Actor - Audio Fiction (Eric Martsolf) and Best Original Score. Founded by We Love Soaps LLC's Roger Newcomb in 2009, the Indie Series Awards celebrate the best in independently produced entertainment created for the Web. Indie series are to Network TV series what Independent Films are to mainstream movies; innovation and creativity thrive and fanatical followers are the norm. The ISAs honor a genre that emphasizes artistic merit and social impact over corporate profits, however, the overall quality of the nominated shows is comparable to that of most TV sitcom or dramas-in fact, several past winners went on to partner with traditional television content providers. Notable winners over the years include Emma Thompson, Lou Diamond Phillips, Robert Townsend, Cynthia Watros, Judd Hirsch, Cady Huffman, Richard Hatch, Sarah Brown, Martha Byrne, Joan Van Ark, Keith Powell, Jim Rash, Michele Lee, Diane Delano, Charlene Tilton, Billy Dee Williams and many more!
