Tierra Citrus
Set in the mountainous Yungas region of Tucumán, Argentina, 'Tierra Citrus' follows the story of a rural community in Alpachiri, where generations of workers have toiled in the lemon farms. As the workers' bodies bear the weight of exploitation and illness, young Lucia seeks healing through rituals involving a magical stone believed to grant wishes of abundance. The film portrays the contrast between the aging, exhausted world of the workers and Lucia's youthful determination to heal the land's sadness. Through an ecofeminist lens, director Ayelén Agüero captures the dense, unequal landscape of northern Argentina, where nature absorbs everything-words, animals, trees, mountains-while exploring how the female body articulates resistance against extractive and masculine forces.
