Do You Remember Me?
"do you remember me?" is based on the true story of its writer, producer, and director Tonia Magras. The film follows the protagonist, "Nicky" from her time in college at 18 years old, to her current age (50's) as she faces the trauma of a rape that occurred more than 36 years ago. Through her social media account, Nicky is shocked to see a friend request from Dale, the man who coerced Nicky to go back to his apartment, where he and his three roommates raped her. Upon staring at the man looking back at her on her computer screen, Nicky, visibly shaking, types a message to Dale via a chat box "do you remember me?" Decades have passed, and Nicky continues to cope with the impact of the rape. Although Nicky is finally facing her nightmare head on, she feels safe because of the love and understanding of her husband, Greg. Nicky can get past this evening but knows that the trauma will always be there, as will her family with love, support, and care.
