Drift
On a return trip from the deepest unknown reaches of our galaxy a scientist's ship becomes set adrift in space. With his ship disabled by a gravitational collapse his mission becomes comprised. The first proof of life in our galaxy begins to die all around him. Among the dead he finds one creature still alive. With the creature's life fading fast he must make a choice whether to let it die or sacrifice himself for the mission.
