Every 7 years, the prestigious King's Invitational is held in the nation of Lyssidia. Sponsors seek out only the most promising gladiator candidates to rise to the occasion. The prize? An audience with the king himself, as well as one wish that he MUST oblige, no matter what... ...or so the announcements claim. In reality, very few newcomers make it to that stage, with event after event rigged to fall into the hands of those backed by an aristocracy with no intentions of allowing any threats to the status quo to pass... ...but what happens when someone is killed outside of the arena?
