Black, Round, & Groovy is an affectionate snapshot of some New York City characters that have one thing in common: a love of vinyl records. This short film lets the viewer get to know a few of the interesting people that continue to collect and their reasons for sticking with what some call an out-of-date format: the 'accumulator' who attempts to preserve everything he comes across, the aging punk with serious ear problems that often keep him from enjoying music, the DJ who can't see lugging around all of her vinyl for much longer, and more. In a culture bent on instant gratification and a 'download it for free' mentality, 'Black, Round, & Groovy' slows life down to 33 1/3...at least for 25 minutes.
