The Snowbowl Effect
Worshiped by more than a dozen Native American tribes, Arizona's San Francisco Peaks have survived centuries of land development. Although a coalition of tribal leaders and environmentalists was able to stop mining activities in the late 1990s, the struggle for the real protection of this mountain range is not over. The documentary offers insight into our relationship with the land through one of the last battles between conservationists and developers who want to lease square kilometers from the Forest Service to build a new ski resort.
