During Israel's War of independence the 'Negba' Kibbutz is surrounded by the Egyptian army, and Avraham, The military commander of the place sends his only son, Dan, to a dangerous mission to rescue wounded Israeli soldiers .Dan gets killed and Avraham represses his pain and rules over 'Negba' fearlessly as he totally objects the option of retreat from the Kibuttz. When Egyptian attack is imminent, the self-doubt starts growing in Avraham, and when Itamar, his greatest opposer, brings Dan's body back to the Kibbutz Avraham finally faces his loss.
