Embodies does not seek to redefine beauty, but in a series of personal vignettes, dismisses it entirely. We follow a nude model, an anatomical embalmer, and a roller derby mother of three as each woman wrestles with the challenges that arise through their unique relationships to the human body. The film introduces us to three underexposed worlds in Chicago, and through the personal stories of these women, shows us what it takes to stand naked in a room full of strangers, raise a family and participate in an underground sport, or work with the dead for a living.
