The series explains the link between the present and the most prosperous period in Dutch history. In addition to large economic and cultural prosperity of Dutch society, the 17th century saw a strong momentum at the expense of the familiar. In thirteen episodes of forty minutes, themes such as globalization, urbanization, immigration, financial crisis, the stock market and media hypes are explored. And obviously Michiel de Ruyter, Vondel and Johan van Oldenbarnevelt are not missing.
