The Stand Up is a dark comedy following the trials and tribulations of Dublin comedian Tony Murphy. Tony has always prided himself as a non-compromising purist. However after twenty years on the grueling comedy circuit he is left exhausted, exasperated, creatively and financially frustrated. In a moment of utter clarity or utter madness he decides on an extreme course of action that will forever change his life, much to the amusement of his flatmate.
