Callie, a 23-year-old biracial woman comes home to find that her small town has been upheaved by a mysterious crisis surrounding the sun's overbearing rays. In an attempt to reconnect after lost time and a strained relationship, she visits her mother, Jane, whose paranoia, and fear of the outside world have completely consumed her. Callie is skeptical and under the presumption that this epidemic is a hoax, but she soon finds out otherwise.
