Operation Save East Cleveland

201240m
DocumentaryShort

Over the past 40 years East Cleveland has been viewed as a suburb on a downward spiral. What was once home to elite families such as the Rockefeller's as well as innovative and profitable businesses, is now seen by many as a hopeless disaster. In Operation Save East Cleveland, Gezus Zaire and others who have worked, learned and or lived in East Cleveland speak out on the deplorable conditions of the city in hopes to spark a more immediate solution to reclaim the city's glory. Past and present members of the community return to pivotal spots of the neighborhood to share memories and insight on how the city fell on hard times. Scenes of East Cleveland look like destruction scenes from a Hollywood film or ruins from a war torn nation. Neglect, bad politics, apathy and poverty has eaten away at a place where the NFL's Cleveland Rams and various higher ups and society once called home.
