Once upon a time, a powerful fairy lived in a mysterious field. If you got past all the thistles and thorns and caught its light, it would grant you any wishes. These lines are from a story told to Hsin long ago by her deceased mother. Young little Hsin, though, still believes that no matter how difficult her situation is, as long as she believes in the story, the fairy will finally come to help her. A car accident changes her life forever. Hsin's father gets into trouble, she sees just how powerless he is, and also realizes how helpless she is. Hsin can only think to flee into her favorite fairy tale in order to find a way to help her father out.
