'About Candy' tells the story of 7-year-old Pieter, whose Christmas is drastically changed by his mother's sudden hospitalization. While his family deals with the situation, each in his/her own ways, Pieter is left to his imagination. To deal with his feelings of guilt and powerlessness, he invents a quest to make sure his mother gets all the attention from medical staff she needs. Based on my own experiences of my mother being hospitalized during Christmas, I hope this film will show a certain hope and recognition to all who know these situations.
