The Mermaids
The life of Nikki (Ania Niedieck) - nerdy and nearly invisible math student - consists entirely of numbers and theories. To combat this, her therapist advises Nikki to enroll in a university sports class to exercise social interaction in a "playful" way. Since American football is the only class that's not full, she finds herself on the field of the Mermaids. As she struggles through her training sessions, Nikki becomes friends with her teammate Leo (Katja Bramm) and starts to fancy the stunning quarterback Tina (Mira Herold). Leo encourages Nikki to support the team with her tactical talent, but when Nikki suggests new strategies to coach Jessi (Meike Gottschalk), she soon realizes that she'd better keep out of Jessi's way...
