After a long absence Joanna's estranged sister Monica returns home for the funeral of their father, bringing with her the stains of drug addiction and depression. Trying hard to keep the peace long enough to carry out a simple memorial, Joanna senses her sister is still shouldering demons, and no amount of kindness or understanding can ease Monica's pain or keep her from the destructive behavior that has plagued her since childhood. Little does Joanna know her sister has been harboring a dark secret. And only by revealing the truth which may very well destroy all those she loves, can Monica ever hope to come back from the abyss?
