For Series 2 (Episodes 4-6) of the Deep Sea Edition, Dr. Gordon is joined by the extremely accomplished marine biologist Dr. Sylvie Fleury (Kristin Slaysman). In Episode 4, "The Fear", Dr. Gordon introduces Dr. Fleury, French biologist. She begins the show with a lecture on sea stars, and ends up in a panic. In Episode 5, "Consciousness", Dr. Fleury guides us through the evolution of consciousness in the Deep Sea. In Episode 6, "Beautiful Things", Dr. Gordon and Dr. Fleury visit beautiful creatures in the deep sea. Dr. Fleury delivers a surprise that Dr. Gordon might not be able to handle.
