Drama

Hyogo Yakami (Kyohei Shibata) and Reiko Negishi (Jun Fubuki), both police officers, were once married to each other, but they divorced when their daughter Miyuki was two years old. As often happens in Japanese divorces, Hyogo has had no contact with his ex-wife and daughter since then, but in a bureaucratic mix-up, he is assigned to the police headquarters where Reiko has become chief. The two of them quickly adjust to the situation, and Reiko wants Hyogo to reveal himself to their daughter (Ai Maeda), now in her early teens, but he wants to get to know her as a person before revealing his identity. In the meantime, Hyogo and the other police--an ensemble cast of actors with strong personalities-- solve a variety of crimes, each of which forms the main plot of an episode while the continuing storyline of Hyogo's relationship with his daughter and ex-wife forms the continuing thread that binds the episodes together. Once Miyuki's suspicions that Hyogo is her father are confirmed, what does that say about the future relationship of Hyogo and Reiko?
