Those Who Can
Those Who Can is constructed in a non linear montage style to explore a 24 hour period in the life of teacher Des Prater. Abused by repeated use of the homophobic taunt 'batty', Des' sense of self and sexuality is threatened, spilling over into a heightened confusion in his relationship with wife Evie. As the maelstrom engulfs Des he responds to the destruction of a tiny love token by viciously attacking the pupil in a manner both sickening yet strangely appropriate. Those Who Can is an uncomfortable film in which a man finds his destruction and liberation all in the one terrible moment.
