Martin Christiaans asks his employer Joop Bubbelman for a raise as well as his daughters hand in marriage. Bubbelman's daughter Colette confesses she is in love and exaggerates by pretending to be pregnant. But Martin doesn't know the woman he loves lied about being Bubbelman's daughter and Joop doesn't realize his daughter means to marry his driver Oscar, whom he recently let go.
