The story of Amable, a baker settled in Provence with his very young wife who abandoned him for a shepherd. Affected, the baker stops the oven, suspends his activity and mopes in alcohol. The infidelity of his wife Aurélie then became a communal affair. Deprived of bread, the whole village silences its hates and rancors as petty as stupid to go in search of the infidel.
