Rescapé
Lina, 17, is part Belgian and part Congolese. She lives with her Flemish (Belgian) mother and her square thinking stepdad, whom she does not like at all. Her Congolese father, whom she rarely sees, doesn't really play a big part in her life. He forgets to show up at appointments and his work abroad is more important to him than maintaining a relationship with his daughter. Needless to say Lina's attitude towards him is rather cold and indifferent, but deep inside, there's a part of her that craves for a deeper connection with him and her Congolese roots, although she does not realize this. Lina's world will change drastically when she is moved on an emotion level by the consequences of the attacks in Brussels. Throughout the short film we get to know Lina's world. We experience the impact of the attacks through her perspective, that of her friends, her parents, teachers and her classmates.
