Can we leave our former selves behind? Or are parts of our former ourselves never completely inescapable? In a literal twist on the themes of Whitman's poem, Amy Grumbling uses organic materials and an organic process, of un-storyboarded, straight-ahead action. She animates a thought that she came up with, and executes, in the shower. 'Hairnimation #2,' is an experimental meditation on the media potential of average objects, the body, and the value and fate of parts of ourselves that we cast off.
