Bayit - Dirah is a spiritual exploration of the the concept of space. The film utilizes montage of images, sound and text to explore the relationship between spirituality and the space of the home, through the lens of Judaism. The filmmaker uses an introspective lens in order to draw connections amongst the many elements in the film, including interview, voice-over and representative images, interweaving philosophical concepts both from Judaism/Kabbalah and theories from the the book Poetics of Space by philosopher Gaston Bachelard.
