Amidst sweeping prairie fields, singing crickets, and a westward wind, Issabella (68) rests dead on the back porch of her farmhouse. Her daughter, Loretta (35), sits frozen inside the house internally divided between social and emotional responsibility. Deciding to wait till the morning to call the coroner and inform him of the death, Loretta goes out back to sit with her mother through her last night on the farm. Dawn breaks and with it comes the unwinding of Loretta's grief, attachment, love, and loss as she moves through the formalities of death.
