Ruthless ambition leads a man to his own destruction. A pregnant street walker is befriended by a wealthy widow. The girl's boyfriend wants to marry the widow and defraud her of her money. The girl leaves her boyfriend and tells the widow. Despite the man's efforts, the widow decides to forgive him and help him financially so he can take care of his wife and son. But he doesn't find out because he dies in an auto accident.
