The plot is based on actual events that took place in September 1905. Gapon, together with the Social Revolutionaries on the steamer «John Grafton», organized the transportation of weapons to Russia, purchased, as it turned out later, with Japanese money in Europe. Under circumstances not fully clarified, perhaps there was a provocation here, the steamer ran aground, and the revolutionaries managed to get only a part of the weapon.
