Homecoming
A bitter film in a simple, realistic style about the breakdown of family ties resulting from economic emigration. Armenia. Hayk comes home for Christmas and New Year's Eve. He has many gifts and smiles for his loved ones - and cash. Gradually and painfully, however, he discovers how far his wife and children have become distant from him. Material support is not enough to maintain the status of the head of the family. Accurate psychological observations are interwoven in the film with delicate observations of a political, social and cultural nature. An individual story, despite its specificity, gains a universal dimension. Returning home is sometimes impossible.
